The MRU opened the call for the research competition in the field of migration studies in January 2022. The goal was to raise awareness about the importance of adopting research and policies on migration with its various economic, political, social, and cultural dimensions. Egypt has become, in recent years, a country exporting competencies and labor, serving as a transit country for many citizens of other nations. It has also become a receiving country for migrants from various Arab and African regions, seeking security and refuge from political conflicts, ethnic issues, or economic challenges. Submitted research papers were evaluated by an evaluation committee which was formed of group of academic and specialized experts in migration and 18 final papers were accepted for final presentation at a closing ceremony held on 16 October 2022
